Privately owned by the Flete estate Mothercombe, or Meadowsfoot, is a large sandy unspoilt beach at the mouth of the Erme river and backed by grass and woodland. There is a grassy track down to the beach, but no disabled access. A lovely family beach which is just glorious at low tide as never seems too crowded. A very much smaller beach at high tide. Since 2017 open to public daily. There is no lifeguard on this beach. There is a sauna nestled in the woods near the cafe with wonderful views down to the estuary – www.thesomewheresauna.com/mothecombe
