Across the harbour from Salcombe, East Portlemouth is quieter than other nearby beaches – maybe due to the winding roads to get there. An easier route is via the passenger ferry from Salcombe. The sandy beach is a series of small coves at high tide – Fishermans Cove and Smalls Cove which lead down to Mill Bay. Lovely shallow water which is great for children and good rockpools. There is disabled access to the beach.
