Brixham is a thriving fishing town and much of its activities continue to centre around the harbour. Here you will find a mixture of trawlers and pleasure boats with never a dull moment. Close to the mouth of the harbour is Breakwater Beach. This is a shingle beach with easy access for visitors with a disability. With its calm waters and interesting underwater landscape it is a favourite scuba diving area. Shoalstone Beach (TQ5 9AJ) is a shingle and rocky beach close to the old fishing port and adjacent to Brixham’s outdoor seawater swimming pool. At low tide it is particularly good for rock pooling.
