Beesands is a mile-long shingle beach backed by fields and a freshwater lake. Fishing boats still offer up the catch of the day on the village green which is cooked and served at the local cafe. If you want a friendly quiet Devon beach with a great cafe this is for you. The road to the beach, like many in the South Hams, is narrow and can be busy in high season. But totally worth the drive down. Has a lovely rather old fashioned feel.
May - 30 Sept. Dogs allowed winter only
