At the mouth of the Riven Avon and backed by sand dunes and the rolling Devon hills, this is a truly lovely beach. With its expanse of shallow sloping sand combined with interesting rock pools, it makes an ideal family beach. When the conditions are right it is also a good surf beach – one of only a few in South Devon. Busy in summer. Good views across the bay to Burgh Island, famed by Agatha Christie.
