Across the harbour from Salcombe, East Portlemouth is quieter than other nearby beaches – maybe due to the winding roads to get there. An easier route is via the passenger ferry from Salcombe. The sandy beach is a series of small coves at high tide – Fishermans Cove and Smalls Cove which lead down to Mill Bay. Lovely shallow water which is great for children and good rockpools. There is no lifeguard on duty at the beach. Disabled access to the beach.
