The English Riviera
The English Riviera, with its outstanding scenery, golden sands and its own microclimate was so named by the Victorians who compared it to the French Riviera. This 22-mile stretch of South Devon coastline in Torbay encompasses splendid seaside resorts, small tucked away coves and picturesque villages and is one of the most visited holiday areas of the country. Its main towns include Paignton, Torquay and Brixham which are worth visiting.
