A lovely sandy shallow beach dotted with rock pools makes Bigbury an ideal family haunt. The beach looks out onto the famed Burgh Island, where Agatha Christie stayed and which features in a number of her books. The island is accessible by foot at low tide or by the ‘sea tractor’ when the tide is higher. A good beach for surfing when the conditions are right. At high tide there is not a lot of beach. Busy in summer. Car parking is not the cheapest – during the summer there is a cheaper car park a short walk away.
